In Splendor, you are a Renaissance merchant competing to acquire gem mines, trading posts, and shops to build your empire of wealth and influence. By collecting chips that represent precious gems, you’ll invest in development cards that expand your resources and bring you closer to earning prestige. Secure the right combination of cards, and you may even attract the attention of nobles, granting you valuable bonus points.
Each turn offers a simple yet strategic choice:
- Collect chips (three different or two of the same),
- Buy and build cards to expand your permanent gem bonuses, or
- Reserve a card for later while gaining a versatile gold joker chip.
As the game unfolds, your purchased cards provide permanent gem discounts, making future acquisitions easier and fueling your race toward victory. The first player to reach 15 prestige points claims glory as the most influential merchant of the Renaissance.
